We've talked a lot about the pressure on my dad's brain and the 'brain drain' system they are using to monitor the pressure and drainage of spinal fluid so I thought I would do a little research and find a good site for info if anyone is interested in the technical stuff. It's all very interesting and this particular site I use for information is very straight forward and easy to understand so if you're interested it is listed under the 'Medical sites' on the far right at the top of the blog. Thank you again for your prayers, fasting, and help for our family.

Previous question:

The place in Sandy may be HeathSouth. It has good people there, and they were very successful with several people I know for rehab, including several in the ward.

HealthSouth was not successful with my mom, however. They couldn't deal with her dementia, and after just a few days they basically gave up. It took over a week to transfer her someplace else.

I was impressed with what IMC (IHC in Murray on State St. and 5400 S) did for my mom re: Surgery. IHC has put some of their best people there, but I don't know about their rehab.

Kelly,
I am sorry about the accident, mom and I are praying for you all. We understand all too well some of the choices you will have to make. I will try to call health care licensing and get a report on the facilities for you.
How are the children? Who has David, especially during the day. You can have someone call or e-mail me satherton@utah.gov. Please let me know how I can help.

HI kELLY:
At the current hospital that Levi is in, should have a person that will request disability for him through the state. and there should be a social worker that could also help with all the insurance stuff. My daughter amanda is really good with ins stuff. she worked for St. Lukes in meridian and did all the billing if you would like to talk to her let me know. I know when bob had surgery they told us to go to the ins. dept and they were the one that told us they would file the disability. do you have Aflac? if you do you need to call your agent ASAP because they give you money right away. good luck.

Kelly,
Lynn works at the Orthopaedic Center up at the U. She may have some suggestions about doctors and care. They have some of the best. If you want to contact to her, it's lynnallred@gmail.com

Nice to hear some hopeful news. We'll keep praying real hard.
